Eytan Schwartz
Human Rights Activist

Eytan Schwartz was born in New York City and immigrated to Israel with his family when he was 7. Eytan grew up in Tel Aviv and after graduating high school he joined the Israeli army and served as an entertainment correspondent for the Military Radio Station Galei Zahal. Following his undergraduate studies in New York City, Eytan worked as an editor and correspondent for several Israeli television outlets.

In September 2004 Eytan joined "The Ambassador," a groundbreaking reality show that focused on creating better public relations for Israel. During the following four months, Eytan competed with 13 other men and women on the right to represent Israel abroad for one year with an NYC-based advocacy group, Israel at Heart. After winning the contest, Eytan traveled the United States and spoke about Israel on college campuses, churches, synagogues and Jewish community centers. After returning to Israel he became one of the leading activists in the public campaign to grant political asylum to Sudanese refugees in Israel, while continuing to consult to pro-Israel advocacy organizations. He currently oversees the international outreach operations for the Tel Aviv-Yafo Centennial Year in 2009. You can read more about his activities at
